Accessing Light Drivers and ControllersΒΆ

Updating the firmware on a flashlight requires accessing the controller chip in some way. This controller is commonly found on the driver board of the light, so in most cases accessing the driver board also gives access to the controller.

Start by unscrewing the head of the light from the battery tube and looking at the exposed portion of the driver board in the head of the light.

The objective is to identify which style of controller interface the light uses to help locate appropriate Flashing Hardware. Compare the light to the different types below and with luck there will be an exact match. If not, then search around on Reddit and BLF and see if anyone has posted a specific answer for that light.
